CALCULATING ROLLAGE
Most all wallpapers come in double rolls and are 20 1/2" wide by 33 feet long with a total of 56 square feet per double roll. Measure the widths and heights of your area in feet and divide by 50 to get how many double rolls to allow for repeat. For example a small bath room may have areas like 3x5 3x5 1x8 5x8 5x8 5x8 3x5 =15 3x5=15 1x8=8 5x8=40 5x8=40 5x8=40 15+15+8+40+40+40=158 158 divided by 50 = 3.16 or 4 double rolls. Please be aware that with repeats and cutouts people tend to run short more than have overage. Please round up when figuring and allow some extra. There are times where a customer is short and can no longer get the same run. What is a double roll of wallpaper ? There has always been confusion regarding what a double roll is! A double roll is one roll of wallpaper which is usually 20.5" wide by 11 yards long. Many years ago you could order one single roll and the manufacturer would cut a double roll with a cutting fee but they no longer cut rolls. Now you still have the same wording but you cannot get one single roll, only one double roll. Please be aware most all our wallpapers and borders are prepasted which should have enough paste to go on a smooth flat wall. Vinyl to Vinyl paste is needed if going over existing wallpaper or border and sometimes we have had customers tell us there was not enough paste on the item. Paste would have to be added to it.
