Double Roll Bolt - The traditional way wallpaper is packaged to minimize hanging waste.  Usually refers to 2 single rolls in one continuous uncut package.  Bolts are either 20.5 inches wide by 11 yards long or 27" wide by 9 yards long.

Drop match - A pattern match that does not occur in a straight line across a strip of wallpaper.  The design drops in predetermined increments or the repeat.  This design technique creates pattern characteristics that repeat on every other strip.

Dye Lot or Run - A batch of wallpaper, border or fabric that has been printed or dyed at the same time.  Referred to as Run or Lot on the roll.

Faux Finish - The word  faux means false or fake.  Wallpaper made to imitate leather, stone, or any other finish.

Flock - A wallpaper that has been made to have a raised soft velvet-like texture.

Grass Cloth - A wallcovering material that is woven of coarse plant fibers and applied to a backing.  It will have a strong horizontal effect and a nubby, irregular texture.  This wallcovering does not have a match and the seams will show.

Non woven wallpaper - A new backing to wallpaper.  These materials are breathable helping to eliminate mold and contain no vinyl.  They are also easily dry removable when hung by the manufacturers instructions.

Primer or Sizing - A paint like product applied to walls before wallpaper, border or murals are hung.  This product is important for adhesion, strippability and better hanging.

Prepasted - Wallpaper, borders or murals that have a dry water-activated adhesive applied to the back during manufacturing.

Repeat - The distance from the center of one motif to the center of the same repeated motif.

Spool -  A spool of border is the same as a roll of border.  They come in all different heights and are usually 15 feet long but not always. They can be dye-cut or scalloped or straight.

Solid Vinyl Wallpaper - Solid vinyl wallpaper is durable and scrubable.

Toile - Refers to a scenes printed on a wallpaper

Vinyl Coated Wallpaper - Vinyl coated paper has a viny coating and is washable.
